BRUNSWICK — The Pejepscot Genealogical Society will host author Peggy Shiels Konitzky at its next meeting, Sunday, Jan. 13.
The meeting will be at 2 p.m. in the Morrell Meeting Room at Curtis Memorial Library, 23 Pleasant St.
Konitzky will discuss her book, “Midcoast Maine in World War II,” detailing what life was like in the region while supporting the war efforts at home.
Through a series of stories and illustrations, Konitzky will explain what life was like for the men, women and children who needed to pull together to keep the communities at home running and support the troops overseas.
Konitzky holds a degree in U.S. history and art history from Georgetown University School of Foreign Service as well as an MBA from New York University and a certificate in museum studies from Tufts University.
She is a resident of Topsham, and has, for more than 15 years, served in a series of positions related to historic preservation in New Hampshire and Maine. Since 2007, she has been the site manager for Castle Tucker and the Nickels-Sortwell House in Wiscasset.
