Weinberg named patient navigator at Stephens Hospital

NORWAY — Tamara Weinberg has been hired as the patient navigator for cancer services at Stephens Memorial Hospital, Western Maine Health Vice President of Clinical Services Margaret Burns announced.Weinberg, a registered nurse, will provide personalized one-on-one support to patients and their families who are diagnosed with cancer. Her position will offer emotional support and provide assistance with treatment options, including clinical trials, if available. Her goal is to ease the burdens of cancer patients and their families during this difficult and stressful time by helping to eliminate barriers to timely and appropriate care for their cancer treatment, such as transportation or insurance, according to the hospital.
Weinberg earned a bachelor of science in nursing from the University of New England in 1998. She has been a registered nurse for 20, working 18 years in oncology nursing.
In her spare time, she enjoys hiking and being with her husband, two daughters, dogs, cat and her African parrot.
