FARMINGTON — The Franklin County Chamber of Commerce annual Chester Greenwood Day is Saturday, Dec. 1 in downtown Farmington.
The theme this year, the 42nd Chester Greenwood Day, is “Sights and Sounds of the Season.” Don’t forget to include earmuffs on your float in honor of earmuff inventor Greenwood.
Many favorite events will be returning this year including the annual parade, gingerbread contest, craft fairs, historical open houses and polar bear dip.
Also returning this year is the Taste of Farmington event. A $5 passport is good for samples at local eateries on Chester Greenwood Day from noon to 3 p.m. Nine participating restaurants include Thai Smile, The Roost, Tuck’s Ale House, Farmington House of Pizza, The Homestead, Java Joe’s , Determined Nutrition, UMF Beaver Lodge and Dunkin’ Donuts.
Taste of Farmington passports are available for purchase at the Franklin County Chamber office, Franklin-Somerset Federal Credit Union and County Seat Realty before Dec. 1, and at the chamber’s Chester Greenwood Day information booth in downtown Farmington on the lawn of the Pierce House.
Events begin at 8 a.m., the parade is at 11 a.m. and they conclude with the 6 p.m. Festival of Trees auction. For a full schedule, visit www.franklincountymaine.org.
