LEWISTON — St. Mary’s Center for Orthopaedics has announced the addition of Sacha Matthews, M.D., an experienced hand and upper extremity surgeon, to New England Foot & Ankle Specialists in Portland.
Matthews began his career at New York Presbyterian Hospital in New York, where he completed an internship in surgery, a residency in orthopaedics and earned the role of administrative chief resident for the Department of Orthopaedics.
He was also an Emanuel B. Kaplan Hand and Upper Extremity Fellow at the Hospital for Joint Diseases at New York University in New York. Before joining NEFAS, Matthews spent 15 years working at Spectrum Health Care Partners also in Portland.
He is a graduate of Amherst College in Massachusetts and earned a doctorate of medicine at Columbia University.
