Western Maine Health volunteers feted

NORWAY — Western Maine Health volunteers were celebrated and recognized for their dedication and commitment at the annual volunteer luncheon in the Harper Conference Center on Monday, Oct. 15.
Andrea Patstone, chief operating officer, Western Maine Health, thanked the volunteers for all the work they do over the course of the year.

She recognized the commitment volunteers make to the hospital and the overall value they bring to the organization. “On behalf of Stephens Memorial Hospital, thank you to the volunteers who dedicate so much of their time and energy to this hospital. Every day, our volunteers help ensure Stephens is a positive place for our patients from the moment they step through our doors, to the time they leave. Your reliability, passion, and commitment plays a significant role in the high-quality healthcare services we are committed to providing to the communities we serve.”
There are approximately 40 volunteers in Volunteer Services department at Western Maine Health. In the past year, volunteers have provided more than 13,000 hours of service at a variety of volunteer activities focused on promoting the health and comfort of patients and visitors. Volunteers provide a wide range of services at Stephens Memorial Hospital including patient greeters, chaplains, thrift shop, patient escorts, clerical support in the birthplace and community class instructors. More than 25 volunteers were in attendance at the recognition lunch.
