FARMINGTON — The Franklin County Chamber of Commerce business award winners, presented at the recent annual meeting, have been announced.
The Rising Star Ward went to Origin USA, of Farmington. Nominees also included Tuck’s Ale House, of Farmington, and Merrill’s Garage and Supply, of Jay.
Community Service Award winner was Rustic Roots Farm, of Farmington. Nominees also included United Way of the Tri Valley Area and Western Maine Homeless Outreach.
Business of the Year was Franklin Savings Bank of Farmington. Other nominees were Senior Planning Center of Farmington, and County Seat Realty, of Farmington.
The President’s Award, given by Board President,Mike Blanchet was awarded to County Seat Realty.
The silent auction, held at the meeting, raised money to help support the chamber and the programs it supports. “The business community in Franklin County is one of generosity and compassion,” the chamber said in a news release. There were 100 balloons sold at the annual meeting, each signifiing $25 towards the Gerry Wiles Food Basket program.
