Augusta area organizations offering CDL driver course

AUGUSTA — A group of area organizations have joined to provide a commercial drivers’ license course to train drivers for the construction industry, commercial deliveries, school buses and snowplowing.
Community partners representing both Augusta and Maranacook Adult and Community Education, Maine Staffing Group, FedCap, Associated General Contractors of Maine, and Western Maine Community Action are behind the effort.
The CDL-B course, with the WorkReady component, will be free for eligible participants.The deadline for registration is Friday, Aug. 31. An orientation is scheduled for 1:30 p.m. Thursday, Sept. 6, at the Augusta Adult and Community Education campus, 33 Union St.
