As you may already know, I am a fan of Maine author Stephen King and a lot of his work. I have read many of his books and shorts and am almost never disappointed.
Keeping true to precedent, I was not disappointed by this book at all; in fact, I am surprised I had never heard of it before finding it on the shelf.
“Revival” is amazing. I would go out on a limb and say it found a spot in my top five. How this book is not a household name is beyond me. I thought it was far more gripping than “Carrie,” and everyone knows that one.
I could easily imagine this book being a movie — maybe even a blockbuster.
One of the things I like most about “Revival” is that the main character is far from a hero; essentially, for most of the book, he is not a very good guy — almost unlikeable. I find books more interesting when the antagonist is flawed and imperfect. It adds something to the depths of the story.
If you are looking for a book to read unlike anything you have ever read before, pick up a copy of “Revival.” I can’t even begin to rate it, because it practically broke the scale –10 out of 10 and a proverbial pat on the back for the king of horror.
