LEWISTON — Kevin Lewis, CEO of Community Health Options, recently announced Michael Takach has joined the organization as pharmacy director, reporting to CMO Dr. Edward Yoon.
Takach’s responsibilities will include providing oversight for pharmacy and therapeutic issues and ensuring compliance with pertinent government regulations and standards. “We are delighted to have Mike Takach join our medical management team,” said Dr. Yoon. “He is a talented and experienced leader who will help guide our pharmacy division.”
A registered pharmacist, Takach holds a bachelor of science in pharmacy and a master’s degree in health informatics, both from Northeastern University.
Before joining Health Options, he was founder/president of PharmSense, Inc. In that role, he spent six years traveling extensively throughout the country, advising clients on operational efficiencies, long-term strategy, CMS audit support/compliance and drug trend management.
His earlier experience includes working as a consulting practice leader, health plan and government programs, for the Burchfield Group, Inc., of St. Paul, Minn. Takach also served as vice-president, pharmacy services, for Martin’s Point Health Care, Inc., for six years and director, pharmacy services for 14 years.
In addition, he worked in various pharmacy management positions at Kaiser Permanente, Giant Foods and Peoples Drug Stores.
