Poland Spring awards Good Science Scholarships

Jul. 62018

POLAND SPRING — Poland Spring Water recently awarded 15 Good Science Scholarships of $1,000 each to seniors from four Poland-area high schools.
Each of the seniors is planning to pursue post-secondary education in life science, physical science, earth science, engineering or environmental science or policy.

This year’s scholarship recipients included five students from Bonny Eagle High School in Buxton, three students from Fryeburg Academy, three students from Poland Regional High School and four students from Gray-New Gloucester High School.
Students applied for the scholarships by writing an essay describing what environmental stewardship means to them. Applications are reviewed and awarded by a Poland Spring Selection Committee, made up of members of Poland Spring’s Community Relations and Human Resources teams.
“The caliber of students who apply for this scholarship every year is so impressive,” said Heather Printup, community relations manager for Poland Spring. “It makes it difficult to select the winners. Each of this year’s applicants demonstrated a clear commitment to environmental stewardship–which is at the center of what our company does and who we are. We’re proud to help support these young science scholars as they begin their studies.”
Since 2007, Poland Spring has awarded more than $200,000 in scholarships to Maine graduating seniors.
