WATERVILLE — The Mid-Maine Chamber of Commerce on June 9 recognized 19 students at Albert S. Hall School who had perfect attendance for the 2017-18 school year.
Awards were presented to the fourth and fifth grade students at an assembly.
To have perfect attendance each student must not be tardy, have no unexcused or excused absences, and not have early release.
Fourth-graders who received the award were Amelia Berls, Felix Chapa, Derek Couture, Caleb Crowley, Rylee Derosby, Jayda Dunn, Daniel Joler and Trevor Tardif.
Fifth-graders who received the award were Jazlynn Bouchard, Garrett Gendreau, Xavier Hamlin, Mariska Maguire, Cassidy Mathieu, Joel Retamozzo, Cade Rogers, Tobin Thibeau.
All were given gifts donated by local businesses as well as a Kindle.
Benjamin Kitchin, Jennie Parkhill and Allexandriea Small completed their second consecutive year with perfect attendance. In addition to the standard gift bags, each of the three were given a week at summer camp at the Alfond Youth Center’s Camp Tracy.
Additional substantial financial contributions to support the program were provided by Bangor Savings Bank, Mid-Maine Chamber of Commerce and Waterville Rotary Club. Items that were given to the students were donated by Alfond Youth Center, Are You Ready To Party??, Benton Family Fun Park, Best Western Plus Waterville, Cancun Mexican Restaurant, Cappza’s Pizza, Caswell’s Liquidation Center, Children’s Book Cellar, Children’s Discovery Museum, Comics Card & Collectables, Dairy Queen, Eric’s Restaurant, Johnny’s Selected Seed, Kennebec Savings Bank, Kennebec Valley Community College, Inland Hospital, MaineGeneral Medical Center, McDonald’s, New Dimensions Federal Credit Union, People’s United Bank, Representative Thomas Longstaff, Selah Tea, Spellbound, Subway, SweetFrog, Thomas College, Thompson Volkswagon, Waterville Opera House, Waterville Parks & Recreation and Waterville Public Library.
