LEWISTON — Since 1990, Dr. Jan Kippax has had an office on 501 Main St., practicing oral and maxilla facial surgery.
From his valedictorian days at Boston University to his certificate of advanced graduate study, Kippax has seen the full scope of oral surgery for the past 37 years.
Even if someone is simply looking to have a tooth extracted, it’s the right place. An oral surgeon is more qualified and more experienced to pull a tooth because not all teeth are a quick pull.
In an office such as The Implant Center, patiens will find a staff and equipment geared for the extraction at hand.
“Between the two surgical staff they have over 50 years in the business and have certificates at the top of their field. Any dentist will tell you they can’t do it alone,” says Kippax, “They have excellent judgement and 100 percent empathy for the patients. I can’t say enough about the quality of their work and how much they mean to me and the business. They are truly like family to me.”
When Kippax bought the business from Dr. Raynald Roy in 1990, Roy worked with him for several years to ensure a smooth transition. Roy had been practicing since the early 60s. He was the first oral surgeon to do general anesthesia for tooth extractions in the Lewiston-Auburn area.
Kippax said he is proud to continue Roy’s legacy of excellence, and that’s why this office was the first in the state of Maine to have an operating room general anesthesia machine.
The Kippax office has constantly upgraded, having the most modern equipment and electronic medical records to make sure our patients receive the best quality care. Staying with the latest state requirements the Implant Center now does electronic prescriptions. This practice is still the only oral surgery practice in town placing BICON dental implants. Dr. Kippax’s relationship goes way back with the founders of the BICON company. He also has the Under Armour mouth guard franchise for every type of sport.
With all this going on, the doctor still keeps his phone on 24/7 in case he’s needed by a patient.
