OAKLAND — Local author Earl Smith will speak at the library about his books, which center around the Belgrade and Waterville areas.
Smtih will be at the library at 6 p.m. Thursday, May 17.
Smith is the author of “The Dam Committee,” and “More Dam Trouble,” which place in a community much like Belgrade Lakes, where he lives.
His most recent book, “Head of Falls,” is a novel that takes place in 1950s Waterville, where he grew up. The books are published by North Country Press.
Smith was a professor and dean at Colby College for four decades and also has written about Colby’s art museum.
Smith will sign his books, which will be for sale, at his appearance.
