BRUNSWICK — The Pejepscot Genealogical Society will hold its next monthly meeting in the Morrell Meeting Room of the Curtis Memorial Library, 26 Pleasant St., at 2 p.m. Sunday, May 6.
The meeting will be held one week earlier than usual to accommodate Mothers Day.
The society will screen “In the Blood” by filmmaker and musician Sumner McKane.
The one-hour movie is an illustration of the life, character and history of the turn-of-the-century Maine lumbermen and river drivers.
“In The Blood” employs stories and descriptions told by the men themselves, offering accurate, detailed and personal experiences. The film is a striking experience into the history and importance of these legendary Maine men. Through still and motion photography and actual audio, this is a must see for those who have had a lumbermen in their family and wondered what it was like in the camp in the dead of winter and not emerging until the river drives in the spring. This is the second movie in a series of three.
