Mar. 212018

The American Heart Association/American Stroke Association teamed up with eight Maine hospitals for the “Little Hats, Big Hearts” program, which provided 700 newborns with volunteer-made red infant caps during February, which was American Heart Month. The purpose is to celebrate heart health while raising awareness of congenital heart defects, the most common type of birth defect in Maine. Participating hospitals were Central Maine Medical Center, Eastern Maine Medical Center, Maine Medical Center, Mercy Hospital, Mid Coast Hospital, Southern Maine Health Care, TAMC – The Aroostook Medical Center, and York Hospital.
