SOUTH PARIS — Paris Public Library’s Novel Idea Book Club will discuss “Shiloh,” by Phyllis Reynolds Naylor when it meets at 6:30 p.m. Tuesday, Feb. 20.
“Shiloh” is the 1992 Newbery Award winner, about an 11-year-old West Virginia boy who tries to help a mistreated beagle puppy. The book shows the many sides of human nature and the struggles between right and wrong.
The Novel Idea Book Club is for both adults and youths who read, learn from and discuss children’s, juvenile and young adult selections with sophisticated content; the focus revolves around various cultures, human rights, historical fiction, realistic fiction, biography, and selections with a universal message.
To secure a copy of the February book, call the Paris Public Library at 207-743-6994. The library will get a copy on loan.
A refreshment will be available at the meeting. The library is at 37 Market Square, South Paris.
