GARDINER — Gardiner Main Street’s annual Days of Light Celebration will be the weekend of Friday, Dec. 1, beginning with the annual tree lighting that evening.
The treelighting, which begins with caroling at 5:10 p.m., will include hot chocolate and cookies, a holiday dance performance from Ampersand Academy of Dance and Performing Arts, and a visit from St. Nick.
The tree-lighting coincides with the holiday Artwalk, at which local businesses stay open until 8 p.m., hosting area artists. The Festival of Trees on the third floor of Johnson Hall will also kick off Dec. 1.
The Festival of Trees continues at 9 a.m. Saturday, Dec. 2. Aea businesses and organizations will decorate trees with traditional decorations and the public may buy raffle tickets and vote for their favorite tree, and get a chance to take it home. All proceeds go to help Johnson Hall’s mission of bringing performing arts to the community.
At 4:30 p.m,. Saturday, the Parade of Lights will take place along Water Street.
