BUSINESS PROFILE: Tilton’s Market is Oxford Hills Chamber’s business of the month

Oct. 252017

SOUTH PARIS — The Oxford Hills Chamber of Commerce’s membership committee has announced Tilton’s Market of Buckfield has been named the September Business of the Month.
Tilton’s Market is known for its butcher shop, featuring hand-cut to order meats. The market also carries an assortment of grocery items and baked goods, including homemade whoopie pies.
Sandra Fickett, a former school teacher, took over the business in 2014 and has increased the number of staff working at the market as well as the products offered.

There are currently more than 20 people employed at Tilton’s Market, and most live in the surrounding towns of Buckfield, Sumner and Hartford. Fickett also supports the local schools and sports programs as well as several other local non-profit organizations.
The chamber started the Business of the Month program to raise awareness and celebrate various member achievements. Each month, the chamber will make a charitable donation on behalf of the Business of the Month to the “Feeding Oxford Hills” initiative or to Rightstart’s Christmas for Kids and Teens programs. The September donation of $250 will be given to Rightstart for its Christmas programs.
Anyone in the community can nominate a business or organization through the chamber’s website, www.oxfordhillsmaine.com. More information on the program can also be found on the website.
