Bowdoin garage, bake sale and raffle held by Women’s Auxiliary May 20

Apr. 112017

BOWDOIN — The Bowdoin Volunteer Fire Department’s Women’s Auxiliary will hold its spring “Garage Sale, Bake Sale and Raffle” from 9 a.m. to 2 p.m. Saturday, May 20, at the Fire Department garage on Cornish Drive (next to the town hall). Table rentals are $10 each and can be reserved by calling Alberta Greenleaf at 666-5752 or Patty Elwell at 666-5974.

Tables are 8 feet long, and all goods must be placed on the table or on the floor under the table to avoid tripping hazards. Please reserve enough tables to display your goods; doors will be open for vendors at 8 a.m.

In addition to the bake sale, steamed hot dogs with all the fixings will be available for purchase as well as chips and both hot and cold beverages. All vendors are welcome to free hot coffee. Raffle tickets can be purchased ahead of time from members of the auxiliary or at the day of the event. Drawings for the raffle prizes will be held at 2 p.m. Those who are drawn for prizes need not be present to win.

The auxiliary and the volunteer fire department are also offering two-sided, reflective metal signs with street number displayed for $15. These will help the fire department and 911 responders find residences more easily in an emergency, day or night.

Signs can be ordered at the garage sale and are dark blue with white letters. The offer is not limited to Bowdoin residents; anyone can order a sign for their property. Payment will be expected at the time of ordering, and a notification will be sent when the sign is ready.
