Get a good book at a good price for a good cause at Turner library

TURNER — The Turner Public Library’s annual book sale will be a three-day event again this year, starting Saturday, July 1. Join us on the first day for a leisurely browsing experience, complete with refreshments, The sale will take place Saturday, July 1, from 8:30 a.m. to noon; Tuesday, July 4, from 8:30 a.m. to 1 p.m.; Wednesday, July 5, from 9 a.m. to noon.

While the sale’s schedule has expanded over the years, the bargain prices have not changed. With most books priced at $1 for hardcovers, 50 cents for paperbacks and most children’s books at four for $1, it’s easy to leave with an armful of treasures.

In the meantime, the library welcomes donations of gently-used books, which can be left in the lobby of the Leavitt Institute Building anytime the library is open — Tuesday and Thursday, noon to 7 p.m., Friday 2 to 6 p.m., and Saturday 9:30 a.m. to noon. We are happy to receive CDs, DVDs and puzzles. We ask that you do not leave encyclopedias or magazines, as there is simply no market for them.

The sale takes place in the Community Room of the Leavitt Institute Building. Proceeds from the Book Sale are an important fundraiser for the Library, and a lively community event, too. For more information, or to learn how to join the fun, please call Betty Twitchell at 207-212 7872.
