TCMHS’s Paul Vinsel becomes board certified in addiction medicine

LEWISTON – Dr. Paul Vinsel, of Tri-County Mental Health Services, has become board certified in addiction medicine by the American Osteopathic Association, the organization announced.
Vinsel graduated from the University of New England College of Osteopathic Medicine, completed an emergency medicine residency at Darnall Army Community Hospital in Fort Hood, Texas, and has practiced emergency medicine for 36 years with the U.S. Army and across New England. He is also certified by the American Board of Emergency Medicine.
Vinsel joined TCMHS in September 2021 as part of the agency’s Opioid Health Home program. Since then, he has expanded his service delivery to include providing medication for opioid use disorder to residents of the Androscoggin County Jail, and also is TCMHS faculty for a Rural Behavioral Workforce Development Center Grant under MCD in Maine.
