BRUNSWICK — The Pejepscot Genealogical Society will hold its March meeting at 2 p.m. Sunday, March 12, in the Morrell Meeting Room of the Curtis Memorial Library.
Guest speaker B.J. Jamieson will discuss information that can be gleaned from detailed information about unsavory ancestors. Whether it’s a messy divorce, a stint in jail, or an advertisement about an absconding debtor in the local newspaper, the records tell genealogists more than the basic facts of someone’s life.
Jamieson, the genealogy specialist at the Maine State Library, will give an overview of what records have survived and how to find them.
The program is open to the public, and free of charge, though donations are appreciated.
