BATH – Patten Free Library and Bath Book Bash are hosting author Lois Lowry at 6 p.m. Saturday, Oct. 15, at the library, 33 Summer St.
Doors open at 5:30 p.m., and the event is free and open to the public.
Lowry has authored more than 40 books for children and young adults, including the Newbery Award winning “The Giver” and “Number the Stars.”
Lowry will discuss her latest book, “On the Horizon,” which reflects on the lives lost in the attack on Pearl Harbor and the bombing of Hiroshima. She draws on her own memories as a child living in Hawaii and later in Japan, to show how these events connected people across the globe.
She will also sign books after her talk. Books can be reserved in advance through Mockingbird Bookshop or bought at the event.
