May. 302017

NORTH ANSON — Twin sisters are the valedictorian and salutatorian for Carrbec High School’s class of 2017, Principal Timothy Richardson said in a news release.

Samantha and Sara Taylor, the daughters of Alan and Heather Taylor, of Anson, were named to the top positions in their class, Richardson announced May 22.

Sara Taylor, valedictorian, “is a quiet, unassuming leader in our school,” Richardson said.

Taylor achieved a grade point average of 101.58, and completed seven Advanced Placement classes, as well as “all the Honors classes that would fit within her schedule.”

Taylor “is a student who will be successful in any endeavor she chooses to pursue,” he said.

She plans to attend University of Maine at Farmington and major in art education/animation.

Salutatorian Sara Taylor “is a very bright and successful student,” Richards said. “Not only does she have a grade point average of 100.78, completing four Advanced Placement classes this year, but also is accomplished in the field of performing arts.”

She plans to attend the University of Maine, and is enrolled in the computer science program.

Graduation is 7 p.m. Friday, June 9, in the Carrabec High School Gymnasium.
