NEWRY – The Maine Forest Products Council awarded Gordon Gamble, of Roxbury, a retired board member, with the organization’s Albert D. Nutting Award at the organization’s annual meeting on Sept. 19.
The award to Gamble was one of three presented at the meeting. Mike St. Peter, of Jackman, received the Abby Holman Public Service Award, and A&A Brochu Logging, of Dover-Foxcroft, received the Outstanding Logger Award.
The Nutting award, presented by MFPC Board Member Eric Kingsley, recognized Gamble for his dedication to sustainable forestry and conservation, his demonstrated leadership in several forest industry organizations in both Maine and New Hampshire, and for his strong advocacy for the forest products industry.
“Gordon’s professional efforts have significantly contributed to the sustainable management of Maine’s forest resource,” said Patrick Strauch, executive director of the Maine Forest Products Council.
