BATH – Patten Free Library is accepting submission for the 2022 Annual Writing Contest. The contest is open to adults and teens grades 7 and up in the categories of Short Fiction and Nonfiction. Each category will have first ($100) and second ($50) prizes, and winners will be honored at a reception in January.
This is the contest’s ninth year, and the second year of welcoming submissions by adults, and the previous Memoir category is expanded to include all types of nonfiction, said Hannah Lackoff, program and outreach manager at the library. “We are really excited to see what people come up with,” Lackoff said.
Deadline for submissions is Dec. 3. The contest is open to residents of Patten Free Library’s service area (Arrowsic, Bath, Georgetown, West Bath, and Woolwich), as well as students who attend any RSU 1 school, Chop Point School, Hyde School, or Chewonki Middle School.
