Globes presented to SAD 44 students by Bethel Rotary

BETHEL – Every student in grades three through five in Maine School Administrative District 44 (Bethel, Gilead, Greenwood, Newry, Woodstock) was presented a globe by the Bethel Rotary Club.
Stephen Smith, Rotary Club secretary, made the presentations on May 13 and 26 to third, fourth and fifth-graders at Woodstock Elementary School and Bethel’s Crescent Park Elementary School.
Smith said that the students were a delight to interact with and very appreciative of the gift. Funding for the globes came from donors in the SAD 44 community who wanted to do something for young people that might help them learn and remember the many aspects being residents of Earth. The donors wished to remain anonymous and asked the Bethel Rotary Club, which shares their goal, to present the globes to the students on their behalf.
