WINDHAM – The 2022 Board of Directors and annual awards were announced at the Sebago Lakes Region Chamber of Commerce Annual Meeting & Awards Dinner, held Jan. 20 at Camp Sunshine, in Casco.
Board of Directors positions were renewed, and two new board members – Max Bangs from Bangor Savings Bank and Ray Poulin from TD Bank in Gray – were welcomed. The 2022 Executive Committee is President Deb McPhail (Citizens Bank), Vice President Jennifer Arsenault (Edward Jones), Treasurer/Clerk Joe McLean (Key Bank) and Secretary Tricia Zwirner (State Farm Insurance).
Dana Connors, president of the Maine State Chamber, was the keynote speaker for the evening.
At the awards presentation, all 11 food pantries in the region (Casco, Gray, Naples, New Gloucester, Raymond, Sebago, Standish and Windham) received the Community Service Leadership Award for the tireless and selfless work they have done, especially during the pandemic.
Business of the Year was Spring Meadows Golf Club in Gray. The course was built by the Pollard brothers and is managed by Dave Pollard.
The Frank Koenig Chamber Hall of Fame Award was presented to Zack Conley, who successfully led the Chamber for the last three years as its president.
“The theme for the evening was ‘Celebrating What’s Right with the World!’, said Robin Mullins, executive director of the Sebago Lakes Region Chamber of Commerce. “It was the perfect opportunity to celebrate the events and people that made 2021 a very productive and successful year for our chamber. I am excited about the new executive team and look forward to working with incoming President Deb McPhail. Deb’s role will be to lead the Board of Directors in meeting our chamber mission (to foster economic growth and prosperity throughout our region) by utilizing the board’s strategic plan as a guide. It is a challenge Deb is up for and looks forward to, and I am happy to be there as her partner.”
The Sebago Lakes Region Chamber of Commerce represents the towns of Casco, Gray, Naples, New Gloucester, Raymond, Sebago, Standish and Windham, and is one of the most active chambers in the state. It comprises business members ranging from young entrepreneurs and “mom and pop” shops to the largest employers in the region.
