SKOWHEGAN — The Somerset Career & Technical Center’s final awards ceremony was held May 27 in the Skowhegan High School gymnasium.
Director David Dorr and staff members recognized the outstanding students for the school year and awarded more than r $27,000 in scholarships at the event.
The 173 students are from Carrabec High School, Madison Area Memorial High School, Maine Central Institute, Marti Stevens Learning Center, Maine Academy of Natural Sciences, Overman Academy, Skowhegan Area High School and Upper Kennebec Valley High School.
They completed their Career & Technical Education in one of the following programs: Automotive Technology; Certified Nursing Assistant; Cooperative Education; Culinary Arts; Digital Graphics; Early Childhood Education; Electrical Construction; Emergency Medical Technician; Job Skills; Outdoor Leadership & Skills; Pre-Engineering; Residential Construction; Welding Systems.
The center thanked local businesses and community members for supporting the students during as they worked toward their degrees.
