Kennebec Valley Chamber announces winners of 2021 Kenney Awards

Mar. 292021

AUGUSTA – The Kennebec Valley Chamber of Commerce held its annual awards, the Kenney Awards, on March 26. To ensure the community and the deserving winners and finalists can be celebrated safely, the 2021 Kenney Awards, presented by Kennebec Savings Bank, were held virtually.
The Kenney, named for the region it hails from, is awarded annually to area businesses and professionals that are deserving of the community’s attention and recognition. This year’s awards recognized six awardees, with two of the award categories being determined by live voting.
This year’s award recipients are Woodlands Senior Living, Large Business of the Year; Sprague and Curtis Real Estate, Small Business of the Year; and Augusta Food Bank, Community Service Award.
The winners of the two remaining categories – President’s Circle and Cynergy Young Professional – were decided and announced live. After watching short videos of the finalists in each category, the audience cast their votes by texting their choice.
The winner of the President’s Circle Award is Gosline Insurance Group. The finalists were Highbrow and Transco Business Technologies.
The winner of the Cynergy Young Professional Award is Shawn Mclaughlin. The finalists were Ranae L’Italien and Katelyn Pushard.
The finalists and winners represent hard work in both their professional and personal lives. They hold a standard of ethics and genuine care for the community that the Chamber is honored to recognize.
Tickets for the 2021 Kenney Awards not only allowed attendees to recognize and celebrate the community but also provided an opportunity to support local businesses. Each ticket package included Take-Out Vouchers to participating restaurants, putting over $10,000 back into the community.
The Kennebec Valley Chamber of Commerce was founded in 1932 and is a key part of the business community and a driving force in the development of the Kennebec Valley region. With more than 600 member businesses and organizations, the chamber provides services to the community and its members, including legislative support, community events, educational seminars, economic development and business networking opportunities.
