GARDINER — After taking a year off, Upstream is again sponsoring the Cobbossee Earth Day Waterside Clean-Up and Rally for Fishes. This year’s event will be from 10 a.m. to noon, Saturday, April 17.
Participants will gather on the new and wider Bridge Street bridge, and some will be sent out in smaller teams to special zones on Cobbossee Stream and several spots on lower Pleasant Pond this year.
The event will be outside, nicely distanced and masked-up, working with others picking up trash. At the fourth annual cleanup, in 2019, 34 volunteers picked up more than 445 pounds of trash. This year the system is being streamlined, more volunteer-friendly and safer.
