YARMOUTH — Students from Waterville, Gorham, Clinton and Hebron are among those who received Patriot Education Scholarship and Children of Frankenmuth (including Patriot) Insurance Agency Employees scholarships.
Students were selected and presented scholarships based on their outstanding academic performance, involvement in extracurricular activities and demonstrated commitment to their communities, with preference being given to students pursuing a career in Business. This year, a total of $50,000 in scholarships were awarded. Area students recognized for their achievements are:

Patriot Education Scholarship recipients, Maine high school graduates pursuing their college education:
University of Southern Maine — Karalyn Kutzer, of Gorham;
Thomas College — Jason Biondo, of Clinton (also received a scholarship last year), and Elizabeth Sanborn, of Hebron.
