PORTLAND — MES Foundation has announced the winners of the Richard H. Pierce Memorial Scholarship, which included students from Lewiston and Richmond.
Awarded to 10 Maine high school students, the renewable $5,000 scholarship is awarded based on distinguished academic merit and financial need. It is given in honor of MES founder Dick Pierce, who died in 2011.
MES to date has awarded $887,000 to Maine students.
“We hope to lessen the financial stress placed on our Maine students and their families, while they pursue a post-secondary education,” said MES Foundation Executive Director Kristie Hurlburt. “We are thrilled to invest in the future of these exemplary students as they enter the next chapter of their lives.”
This year’s Richard H. Pierce Memorial Scholarship Winners are:
Emma Ackerman – Robert W. Traip Academy, Kittery; Anthony Benson – Camden Hills Regional High School, Camden; Jordyn Cowger – East Grand High School, Danforth; Abigail Dundore – Lewiston High School, Lewiston’ Grace Harvey – Old Town High School, Old Town; Abigail Johnson – Richmond High School, Richmond; Neily Raymond – Hermon High School, Hermon; Rachael Sickles – Dexter Regional High School, Dexter; Alaina Smith – Marshwood High School, Eliot; Logan Wadick – Mount View High School, Thorndike.
MES will accept on-line scholarship applications beginning January 1, 2021 through April 1, 2021 for the 2021/2022 academic year at www.mesfoundation.org.
