TOPSHAM — Lewiston author Mark Griffin will discuss the life of Rock Hudson and screen a short documentary on Hudson’s life from 6 to 8 p.m. Thursday, Jan. 23, at Topsham Public Library.
Griffin is the author of “All that Heaven Allows: A Biography of Rock Hudson,” a look at the quintessentially tall, dark, and handsome, legendary movie star whose greatest performance came in real life, as for decades he kept his sexuality hidden in an extremely homophobic society. Griffin looks at Hudson’s career, which spanned 40 years, and at his role as the first major celebrity to die of AIDS.
