Maine author Magras at Turner Library May 18

May. 12019

TURNER — Maine author Diane Magras will share her books and build castles 10 a.m. Saturday, May 18, at the Turner Public Library.

Magras has written two books for young readers — “The Mad Wolf’s Daughter,” a 2019/2020 Maine Student Book Awards selection, and “Hunt for the Mad Wolf’s Daughter.” Both books center on the adventures of a young Scottish girl left behind when invading knights capture her family. Daring adventures and memorable characters make her debut novel for kids a New York Times Editor’s Choice book. These books are available to check out at the library and are recommended for ages nine to 12.
Magras will read from and sign her books as well as help attendees construct their own castles so they can imagine their own heroic adventures.
The program is free and open to all kids ages eight and older. The library is at 98 Matthews Way.
