AUGUSTA — Join us for a fascinating look at animal tracks when local author Dorcas Miller visits on March 22 at 1 p.m. While working on the second edition of her book, “Track Finder,” and as an instructor for the Maine Master Naturalist Program, Miller has assembled a collection of prints in clay, plaster casts, skulls, scat, other signs, and life-sized trail patterns.
This collection presents a wonderful hands-on opportunity for learning about Maine mammals. This program, which is free and open to the public, will be held in the Community Room.
Miller has an extensive background in adventure education, environmental advocacy and natural history. A former Outward Bound instructor, whitewater guide, Maine Guide, and director of Maine’s Becoming an Outdoors-Woman program, she has been sea kayaking since 1983. Other books in the “Finders” series are: “Berry Finder,” “Constellation Finder” and “Winter Weed Finder,” as well as books on many topics, including kayaking, hiking, natural history and outdoor cooking.
