WEST GARDINER — West Gardiner held a ceremony on Saturday, Dec. 15, at the town’s Veteran’s Memorial to lay wreaths at the graves of local veterans as part of the Wreaths Across America event.
The ceremony included the singing of the Star Spangled Banner by Gardiner Area High School student Abigail Haskell, the wreath laying by local veterans, and the playing of taps by Gardiner Area High School student Evan Wells. Additional wreaths were placed at the town’s seven cemeteries after the ceremony.
Taking part in the ceremony were a number of veterans from all branches of the service, included veterans from American Legion Post 181 in Litchfield.
