WOOLWICH — Holistic Alternatives opened its doors Aug. 1 with a very simple philosophy — the patient is first.
They stress the patient and the experience as the most important aspect of the business. And they feel this way because their kind of business is a new frontier for retail green rush, and what Holistic Alternatives is pioneering is a template of what is to come for this thriving operation.
As soon as you walk through the doors you will be educated on the diverse products in the showcases and on the shelves.
And with medical marijuana gaining notoriety in the cancer field, more and more people are turning to THC and CBD oils for relief from pain, stress and anxiety. What was once considered taboo and illegal is now considered to be main stream and prevalent in taking care of many medical issues. Cannabis has varying positive effects on many ailments and diseases.
“A man recently came into Holistic Alternatives suffering from Parkinson disease and was trying to write a check and couldn’t hold his pen,” said Richard Dubs, general manager. “I suggested a Select CBD, which was a vapor cartridge and he took two three-second puffs off it and he stopped shaking. The gentleman said it was the first time he’d ever tried anything that worked so immediately and the first time he’d ever tried CBD in general.”
Holistic Alternartives sells much more than CBDs. THC products from fusions, RSO oils, concentrates and hash and things, sativa, indica and even Value Budz, which at the most is $20 for 3.5 grams. They even sell buds and joints. They also carry a nice selection of very inexpensive bowls, specialty dabrigs, distilled THC and terpine in a vaporizing cartridge. They even sell an extensive line of pet CBD products that you won’t find just anywhere. King Kalm products help aging dogs with swelling and inflammation, for instance.
“CBD oils can be used as a preventative as well,” said Dubs. “And now RSO has been known to kill cancer cells, so literally anyone can benefit from taking CBD in any form and make THC edibles themselves with the RSO oils.”
He said sales have been steady. “I’m happy with my business, as my customers are very happy which makes me very happy as my number one job is care giving and making sure that patients are happy,” he said. “If you live in the area, come in and just say hi. If you have questions about ailments, nutritional healing or need to brainstorm come in and see us. We’re friendly, knowledgeable and love what we do.”
