BRUNSWICK — The Rev. Joseph Lamarre Memorial Post 2197 of the Veterans of Foreign Wars recently presented a plaque recognizing Sports Clips of Topsham for their participation in the national Sports Clips and VFW “Help A Hero” scholarship program.
Since 2013, Sports Clips has donated almost $5 million to provide scholarships to more than 1,100 veterans in collaboration with the VFW. Although relatively new to our area, the Topsham facility has been actively participating, donating more than $1,000 to the national effort last year. They report they are on track to do better this year.
The members of Post 2197, who were present for the presentation, said they were extremely impressed with the Topsham staff promoting the “Help A Hero” program at their post.
Sports Clips is committed to help veterans looking to further their education. Whether you actually get a hair cut or not, they would be happy to accept your donation to the program.
VFW Post 2197 is a non-profit organization dedicated to helping fellow veterans and veterans’ programs as well as the local community.
