AUGUSTA — Joshua Gillis, M.D., has joined MaineGeneral Surgery, providing plastic and reconstructive surgery at both the Alfond Center for Health in Augusta and the Thayer Center for Health in Waterville.
Gillis joins plastic surgeon Jennifer Carr, M.D., and works with other MaineGeneral Surgery services including general surgery, thoracic surgery, eye surgery, vascular surgery and otolaryngology (ear, nose and throat).
He comes to MaineGeneral after completing a hand and microsurgery fellowship at Mayo Clinic, Rochester, Minn. He earned his medical degree and completed his plastic surgery surgical residency from Dalhousie University, Halifax, Nova Scotia.
Certified in plastic surgery by the Royal College of Physicians & Surgeons of Canada, Gillis is eligible for certification by the American Board of Plastic Surgery.
In addition to a wide array of skills in general plastic and reconstructive surgery, he has special interests i wrist and hand reconstruction, peripheral nerve and brachial plexus surgery and reconstructive microsurgery
