WATERVILLE — Unless you have been living in the woods for the past several decades, you likely have heard of Central Maine’s North Pond Hermit. Author Michael Finkel, who has written “The Stranger in the Woods: The Extraordinary Story of the Last True Hermit,” will share his new book at a reception from 5 to 6 p.m. Thursday, March 9, at a reception in Waterville City Hall, 1 Common St.
The event is free, and all are invited to attend. The reception is sponsored by the Colby College Center for the Arts & Humanities and will include free light refreshments from the Last Unicorn.
Then, beginning at 6 p.m. in the Waterville Opera House, Finkel will give a presentation that will include photographs, video clips, as well as a question and answer session. The author will sign books immediately following this presentation.
This event is free, but tickets are required. Free tickets can be picked up at any Bull Moose location or at the Waterville Public Library, 73 Elm St.
Books can be pre-ordered at any Bull Moose location. Books will also be available for purchase at the event.
