TOPSHAM — The Topsham Public Library has activities and events for all ages and interestes this month, from knitting, to history, to the garden club and more.
There are also movies. Spanish story time, a Medicare 101 discussion and, of course, books groups.

The Friends of the Topsham Public Library meet at 6:30 p.m. Thursday, June 7. The nonprofit membership organization is dedicated to supporting the library and helping to further develop the library’s potential in the community. Sip n’ Stitch 10 a.m.-noon, Saturday, June 16, knitting and crocheting group meets on the first and third Saturday of the month, and all abilities are welcome.
Topsham Historical Society will discuss Maine’s Civil War Monuments at 6:30 p.m. Tuesday, June 12 with Maine State Historian Earle G. Shettleworth Jr.
The Topsham Garden Club will host naturalist and wildo food expert Tom Seymore giving a photo presentation on “Foraging for Wild Edible and Medicinal Plants,” at noon Wednesday, June 13. Refreshments and a meet and greet will follow the presentation.
The Nature Speaks book discussion group will meet at 4 p.m. Thursday, June 14 to discuss chapter 6 or “Hope Beneath Our Feet: Restoring Our Place in the Natural World,” by Martin Keogh.
Teen Crafting, 10 a.m. to 2 p.m. Saturday, June 16 in the teen room. Those participating can build a stress ball and earn three tickets toward this year’s summer reading raffle. For ages 12 to 1. No registration is required.
Rockin’ Out at the Movies series features “A Hard Day’s Night,” 5:30 to 7 p.m. Tuesday, June 19. Packed with all-time Beatles favorites. Rated G.
Great Books, 10 a.m. to 2 p.m. Saturday, June 23, meets the fourth Saturday of the month and uses “The Great Books Foundation Short Story Omnibus.” The group is always looking for new members.
Hora de Cuentos/Spanish Story Time, 10:30 a.m. Saturday, June 23. Stories are read in Spanish and English and opens to kids of all ages and their grownups.
Kids’ Drop-in Activities, 11 a.m. to 2 p.m. Saturday, June 23. Activities that may include art projects, sensory activities, experiments, building activities, and more, will be set up in the children’s section! Designed for ages 4 and up, but open to everyone with adult supervision.
Library Legos, 1 to 3 p.m. Saturday, June 23. Regular Legos open to children ages 7 to 13; large Duplo blocks are available for younger kids.
Medicare 101, 1 p.m. to 2:30 p.m. Tuesday, June 26, an overview of the four parts and the basics of Medicare. Presented by Spectrum Generations. Registration is required but the program is free of charge. To register, call Hannah Tompkins, aging and disability resource specialist at 207-607-4405.
CREA, 6 p.m. Tuesday, June 26, a non-profit organization dedicated to using the resources of the Cathance River Preserve to educate students, educators, and the public. Monthly program features speakers and wildlife presentations. Visit creamaine.org/events for the details.
Mainely Worm Bin program, 5:30 to 7:30 p.m. Wednesday, June 27. Jock Robie, of Mainely Worm Bins will talk about worm havesting. All attendees will be entered into a free raffle with 10 worm bins as prizes. No registration required.
The History of Mount Washington, 6 p.m. Thursday, June 2. Lectures shows the recreational development of Mount Washington, known as Agiocochook, by the Abenaki. Webster will present his unique collection of early artwork, stereophotographs, and pictures taken by 1920s and ’30s rock and ice climbers and skiers and share little-known stories and anecdotes that he has unearthed in his research.
