ATHENS — The first race in this year’s Farm to Farm 5K series will be Tuesday, June 19, at Sites’ Farm, 98 Joaquin Road.
The Victory Club has retired from hosting the races after 10 seasons; however, the series will continue under the direction of staff members from Athens Community School.
The June 19 race will begin at 6 p.m., with registration beginning at 5:20 p.m. Homemade ribbons will be awarded in five categories — Men over 30; Women over 30; Ages 13 to 30; Under 13; and Walkers.
Categories and entry fees have changed this year. The entry fee is $5; $1 for those under 18; and $10 for a family.
Proceeds will benefit running programs and field trips at Athens Community School.
A limited number of T-shirts will be given out at the first race.
