TURNER — Because the book sale storage area is overflowing with donated books, and because the annual sale continues to grow in popularity each year, the Turner Public Library has announced some major changes in its book sale schedule.
For the first time, the sale will be held over four days, with more books being added to the tables every day. Also, the sale will end with an “Epilogue of a Blow-Out Sale.”
What has not changed are the prices, with most hardcovers priced at $1, most paperbacks priced at 50 cents, and most children’s books are four books for $1. On the final day, all books will be offered at $3 per bag.
The schedule for the 2018 sale is:
Saturday, June 30, 8:30 a.m. to noon — morning refreshments will be served.
Tuesday, July 3, noon to 3 p.m. — Visit the library and check out the book sale too.
Wednesday, July 4, 8:30 a.m. to 1 p.m. — In addition to the book sale patrons can experience all the activities of the Festival on the Green, including a parade and locally renowned strawberry shortcake.
Thursday, July 5, 8:30 a.m. to noon — Epilogue Blow-Out Sale, with paper grocery-sized bags provided.
As always, the library welcomes donations of gently used books. They can be left in the lobby of the Leavitt Institute Building any time the library is open — Tuesday and Thursday, noon to 7 p.m., Friday 2 to 6 p.m., and Saturday 9:30 a.m. to noon. The library also accepts audio books and DVDs, but cannot accept encyclopedias, textbooks, cook books or magazines.
The sale takes place in the Community Room of the Leavitt Institute Building, 98 Matthews Way.
