Chocolate Church will feature exhibition to accompany ‘MacBeth’

BATH — The Chocolate Church Art Gallery has announced the opening of the “Art of the Bard” exhibit to accompany the upcoming production of Shakespeare’s “Macbeth.”
The exhibition opens Friday, June 1, immediately following first performance of “MacBeth.”

The Art of the Bard, on display in the art gallery until June 10, explores themed works by Maine artists, cast and members of the production crew who were inspired by the ethereal stories of the characters within the renowned Scottish play. The art show showcases a variety of mediums and is curated by Melanie Willey of Bath in partnership with Shakespeare on the Kennebec.
The $6 ticket price for the reception includes champagne toast and light hors d’oeuvres. Tickets for the opening night reception, as well as theater tickets ($12 advance/$15 door) are available by calling 207-442-8455 or visiting www.chocolatechurcharts.org.
The Chocolate Church Art Gallery, 804 Washington St., is open 10 a.m. to 4 p.m. Tuesday and Wednesday; 10 a.m. to 6 p.m. Thursday; and noon to 4 p.m. Friday.
