Stephens Memorial Hospital employees awarded scholarships

NORWAY — Nine employees of Stephens Memorial Hospital have been awarded scholarships to assist them in furthering their education, Margaret Burns, Western Maine Health senior vice president of clinical services, announced.

The Minnie White Scholarship was made possible through a restricted bequest to Stephens Memorial Hospital for nursing scholarships. The recipients of the Minnie White Scholarship are Louise Fillebrown, R.N., B.S.N., director of clinical education, who is pursuing a master of science in nursing; Alison Newton, R.N., B.S.N., senior nurse director, pursuing a master of science in nursing; Bethany McInnis, R.N., oncology services, pursuing a bachelor of science in nursing; Chelsea Harkins, R.N., emergency services, pursuing a bachelor of science in nursing; Deborah Jordan, R.N., C.C.M., director of case management, who is pursuing a master of science in nursing; and Karen Ferris, R,N., B.S.N., medical surgical unit, pursuing a master of science in nursing.
Western Maine Health Scholarships were awarded to Aaron Callina, C.N.A., surgical services, pursuing a bachelor of science in respiratory therapy; Denise Lebroke, accounting, pursuing a bachelor of science in accounting; and Renee Farnham, administration, pursuing a bachelor of science in business administration. The Western Maine Health Scholarship fund was created to assist employees enrolled in a non-nursing degree.
