Risk manager at St. Mary’s Health System earns national credential

LEWISTON — St. Mary’s Health System recently announced Erin Hayes has earned the designation of certified professional in health care risk management from the American Hospital Association Certification Center.
The national credential that distinguishes individuals as part of an elite group of health care risk management professionals.

The certification is designed to provide an objective and rigorous assessment of broad-based knowledge in healthcare risk management. To earn the certification, an individual must satisfy eligibility requirements that incorporate a blend of education and associated healthcare specific professional experience and agree to adhere to the AHA Professional Standards of Conduct. They must also pass the certification examination.
“I pursued this certification to demonstrate my commitment to an important field as well as to St. Mary’s,” shared Hayes. “I look forward to putting it to good use and continuing to safeguard our patients, staff and visitors.”
“Erin’s focus is to ensure St. Mary’s team delivers high quality, safe care every day,” said Betsey Shew, system director of Risk Management for Covenant Health. “This is a very important achievement as this is an industry certification that proves Erin has the core skills and extensive knowledge required to excel in her unique and important role.”
