‘The Belle of Amherst’ to be performed at Chocolate Church April 29

BATH — The Chocolate Church Arts Center will present the one-woman show “The Belle of Amherst,” which features the life of poet Emily Dickinson and is performed by Ginger Grace.
The show is at 2 p.m. Sunday, April 29.

Grace celebrates the spirit of Dickinson with her story — filled with heart and humor. Met with surprises at every turn, Dickinson puts pen to paper and overcomes daunting challenges. At times, she is compelled to “stop the world” as creativity starts — and her poems come to life in the unique voice that defied the conventions of her time. It’s a deliriously private world – and Emily Dickinson is the host.
Grace has toured the country since 2002 with “The Belle of Amherst,” by William Luce. She has worked extensively in New York and regional theater, playing leading roles in plays such as “Cat on a Hot Tin Roof,” “Doubt,” “Who’s Afraid of Virginia Woolf,” and more.
