TOPSHAM — The Topsham Public Library has a variety of events scheduled for school vacation week.
Library events for kids, teens and adults, are Tuesday, April 17, through Friday, April 20.
They include:
YOUNG CRITICS, 5 p.m. Tuesday, April 17, an ongoing book discussion group for kids in grades 4 and 5. It meets once a month from October to May and includes pizza. Registration is required. This month’s book is “Frindle,” by Andrew Clements.
RARE READS BOOK GROUP, 6 p.m. Tuesday, April 17, discusses unusual and interesting books. This month’s book is “Get in Trouble,” by Kelly Link.
TEEN DROP IN ART LAB, 10 a.m. to 2 p.m. Wednesday, April 18, teens may stop and and spend as little or as much time as they like. Materials are provided and no registration is required. For ages 11 to 18.
FAMILY MOVIE: “Coco,” 1 p.m. Wednesday, April 18. Despite his family’s ban on music, Miguel dreams of becoming a musician like his idol, Ernesto de la Cruz. Desperate to prove his talent, Miguel finds himself in the Land of the Dead following a mysterious chain of events. Along the way, he meets charming trickster Hector, and together, they set off on an extraordinary journey to unlock the real story behind Miguel’s family history. Popcorn will be served. Bring pillows and blankets for extra coziness. Rated PG –recommended ages are 7 and up, but all are welcome.
AFTERNOON MOVIE: “Star Wars: The Last Jedi,” 4 p.m. Wednesday, April 18. The Star Wars saga continues as the heroes and galactic legends go on an epic adventure unlocking mysteries of the Force and shocking revelations of the past. Popcorn will be served. Run time: 152 minutes. Rated PG-13 for sequences of sci-fi action and violence. Recommended ages 10 and up, but all are welcome.
STEAM EVENT: 2 p.m., Thursday, April 19, Science, Technology, Engineering, Arts and Math event. Tables will be set up with various activities. Open to all ages.
MEN’S BOOK GROUP: 4 p.m. Thursday, April 19 The group is looking for men to explore interests through reading. It usually meets the third Thursday of each month September through May. This month’s book is “Hillbilly Elegy,” by J.D. Vance.
BIG TRUCK DAY: 10 a.m. to noon Friday, April 20. Big vehicles, up close. All ages are welcome. Rain or shine. Park at the recreation field.
