TOPSHAM — The Maine State Grange will hold its 3 annual Variety Show at Topsham Grange, 47 Pleasant St. at 3 p.m. Sunday, April 29.
The show will feature an array of acts from musical to comedy to dance and more. Admission is $6.
“We had such a great time the past two years, this one I think is going to be even bigger and better than in the past,” said Norma Meserve, fundraising chairman of the Maine State Grange.
During intermission, refreshments of individual slices of pie and beverages will be for sale, and an assortment of items will be raffled off. A portion of the proceeds of the show, including two dollars from each ticket sold, will benefit the three scholarship funds of the Maine State Grange. Grange members and guests from around the state, including Auburn, Danville, Mechanic Falls, Lisbon, Minot, Norway, Greene, Livermore and Farmington are involved in t he show.
Organizers are still looking for performers who would like to showcase their talents. Participants do not have to be Grange members and will have approximately five minutes to perform (depending on their act). All acts should be family friendly.
The Grange, founded in 1867, is a nonprofit, fraternal organization that advocates for rural America and agriculture, with a strong history in grassroots activism, family values, and community service. The Grange in Maine is part of over 100 communities with nearly 5,000 members.
